Flogging Molly- Live At The Greek Theatre (Sideone Dummy Rec)
Everyone's favorite drinking band, Flogging Molly, return with a live double CD + DVD package on March 2- documenting a performance on September 12, 2009 at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. At 90 minutes long, this collection brings together songs spanning their vast catalog of over a decade of recorded music.
Recorded with 8 high definition cameras and a jib crane and mixed by grammy award winning engineer Ryan Hewitt, this is a serious piece of work to complement one of this generations most noted punk rock outfits.
I recently got to have my first Flogging Molly live experience (pics below) in Orlando on their Green 17 tour (remaining dates are below), and I must say they most certainly lived up to all the praise I've been hearing about their live show. The band tore through song after song from their vast catalog, frontman Dave King never missing a note and the band playing about as tight as humanly possible. Even for someone like myself who is only familiar with a fraction of their output, it was quite a spectacle to watch.
Live CDs are usually resigned for serious fans only, though this double disc is a great starting point for even the neophyte Flogging Molly fan, with excellent sound and a good selection of old and new.
