Most definitely a case of 'The Good, The Bad & The Ugly' with this release.
Whilst I always appreciate the efforts of anyone who puts together this type of
release I would still prefer to see at least some effort made, especially with
standards so high in this day and age. So, the good first. Some of this footage
is very nice. Clear and steady close-ups mixed in with some wide angled shots.
Ermm....that's it really. The bad is that most of the footage is not of great
quality at all (which renders the Blu-ray version of this a waste of time,
really). The audio sync is off at times and we're also treated to staring at
very low-res, poorly rendered graphicical 'interludes' for certain sections of
the show as no video footage was available to use. This gets irritating pretty
fast and if no real effort was ever going to be made on a decent replacement
visual, then I'd rather have seen these songs omitted all together. The audio
isn't too bad for the most part but certainly could have benefitted from some
treatment. The ugly concerns the drab visuals and very basic menus. Again, low
res graphics have been used which really don't help this release one bit and the
less said about the 'artwork' the better. I hate to be overly critical but
unfortunately this is one of those times where the bad far out weighs the good.
Label name 'Trash Productions' is certainly an apt one and, maybe, intentionally
ironic, which would be a shame as this would indicate the makers were well aware
of their limititaions and final work. Overall, one for the archive until such
time a better put together replacement emerges.
