This latest collection of knitting patterns from Debbie Bliss has a farmyard theme. Over 30 designs range from whole layettes and all-in-one outfits for babies, to sweaters, cardigans and jackets for older children, and even soft toys such as cows and sheep. Clear instructions and charts aim to assist even the least experienced knitters to create the designs, which are all illustrated in colour. The traditional is combined with more adventurous ideas, so that a Mother Goose cardigan, and a baby jacket with a border of pigs, sit alongside a patchwork sweater with motifs inspired by American folk art, and a tartan jacket with a border of Highland cows. To appeal to children's love of dressing up, there are designs such as a duck all-in-one with webbed feet and a beak, and a range of matching animal slippers.
